DINNER & TALK WITH NATASHA HUNZIKER

Wednesday, September 16, 2026 19:00-22:00, Restaurant Blaue Ente, Kulturareal Mühle Tiefenbrunnen, Seefeldstrasse 223, 8008 Zurich
Speaker(s):

Natasha Hunziker

Organizer(s):
  • Nicola La Rocca

At eight years old, Natasha became a young carer, balancing school and growing up while caring for her mother, often feeling misunderstood and alone. That experience shaped her education, her career, and ultimately her mission. When she learned that 180’000 young carers in Switzerland remain unseen, she founded Caring4YoungCarers to break the silence and make sure every young carer is visible, acknowledged and supported.

Young carers are children, teenagers and young adults aged 5 to 25 who look after a family member with a chronic illness, addiction or disability. They make up 10% of Swiss youth, roughly one to three students in every classroom. Most of them do not know that they are young carers, and do not know that support exists.

Natasha will share her personal story and the work behind Caring4YoungCarers: the information and support network for young carers themselves, the educational workshops that help teachers, healthcare staff and social workers recognise hidden caring roles, and the growing partnership network with organisations such as the Swiss Red Cross Canton Zurich, Stand By You Schweiz, EnableMe and Global Shapers Zurich.

An evening about visibility, empathy and practical support, followed by open discussion over dinner.
