 spiring dinner hosted by Rotaract Club Zurich International\, where we are
  pleased to welcome our guest speaker\, Paolo Rodi. This session will exp
 lore high-altitude illnesses from both a medical and public health perspec
 tive\, with a focus on the real risks faced by climbers and trekkers world
 wide—especially in remote areas where access to care is limited.The talk
  will include insights from a recent expedition in Argentina\, where a lig
 htweight CPAP-based approach was tested as a potential tool for managing a
 ltitude-related conditions in the field. This will serve as a practical ex
 ample of how innovation can be adapted to extreme environments.The discuss
 ion will also examine the Nepalese context\, highlighting the working cond
 itions of guides and porters\, as well as the social and cultural dynamics
  of mountain tourism. Particular attention will be given to unequal exposu
 re to risk and the broader implications for safety and sustainability in h
 igh-altitude regions.Speaker Bio Paolo Rodi Is a medical doctor with a ba
 ckground in trauma and emergency surgery\, currently working in Switzerlan
 d. His work focuses on disaster medicine\, global surgery\, and humanitari
 an health\, with a particular interest in improving access to care in reso
 urce-limited settings.He is actively involved in mountain and extreme envi
 ronment medicine\, combining clinical practice\, research\, and field expe
 rience in high-altitude regions such as the Andes and the Himalayas. He is
  also co-founder of Medical Pirates\, a project aimed at making medical kn
 owledge more accessible through engaging and educational content.We look f
